On June 16, 2026, Queen Mary of Denmark attended the opening of the Dodekalitten monument and art project in Lolland. Upon arrival, the Queen was welcomed by, among others, Michael Schelde, Chairman of the Dodekalitten Foundation, and sculptor Thomas Kadziola, creator of Dodekalitten.
Dodekalitten is a monument and art project located near Kragenæs in northern Lolland. The project was created by sculptor Thomas Kadziola in collaboration with composer Wayne Siegel. Inspired by ancient stone circles, the monument consists of 12 granite sculptures, each standing between seven and nine metres tall. The stone sculptures overlook the Småland Sea.
Following speeches by artist Wayne Siegel and sculptor Thomas Kadziola, the name of the 12th stone sculpture was revealed, and the Queen unveiled the final sculpture, thereby officially inaugurating Dodekalitten. The name given to the final sculpture was Ymrir. Construction of Dodekalitten began in 2009 and was completed with the unveiling ceremony.
